Description
Pianist Michael B. Carabello is a multifaceted pianist in the tri-state area. Carabello is a product of the Artists Collective Youth Jazz Orchestra under master artist in residence Rene McLean, as well as the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford.
Mike has worked with many artists and diverse settings including bassist Nat Reeves, drummer Ronnie Burrage, saxophonist Rene McLean, Saxophonist Antoine Roney, and trombonist Steve Davis. He has studied piano under pianists Rick Germanson, Andy Laverne, Alan Palmer and Rashid Lanie. His performances include stints at New York Jazz Piano Festival at Kalvierhaus, Jazz at Lincoln Center Live in Times Square, The Side Door Jazz Club and The New Haven “On The Green” Jazz Festival, and Rubber City Jazz Festival to name a few.
He was among honorees to perform at The White House for First Lady Michelle Obama, honorary chair of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH)
He remains active in leading his own ensembles, free-lance appearances and integral to several exciting projects in the Connecticut area including Erica T. Bryan and the New Mosaic, the Lost Tribe, and Mixed Company.
