Description
The historic Village of Manchaug will be celebrated as a traditional winter wonderland as Vaillancourt Folk Art and District V partner with the Sutton Historical Society to promote the Manchaug Stroll—a free outdoor event designed to educate, entertain, and toast the evolution of Christmas in a historic 1800s village. On Saturday, December 9th, from 4 pm to 8 pm, you can expect to meet Dickensian-era carolers, and you may bump into St. Nicholas and Krampus while enjoying a horse-drawn wagon ride, all while attendees jovially finish their Christmas shopping by strolling the downtown Village of Manchaug. The Sutton Fire Department will be maintaining outdoor fire pits to help keep you warm while the Sutton Historical Society walks you through the history of the historic mill village. Christmas sausages (with a portion of sales benefiting the Sutton Food Pantry and Senior Center) and German baked goods will be available for sale at Vaillancourt, and Christmas cookies and hot chocolate will be available for sale at District V. To warm up from the festivities, Vaillancourt’s outdoor Christmas bar will be serving hot glühwein alongside beer and wine to help everyone enjoy the warm glow from Manchaug Common’s lit Christmas Tree. This is a free event intended to bring the heart of Sutton together through the merriment of the holiday season.
